I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and I am currently finishing my last semester as a Bachelor’s student at UNR. Over the past four years I have been involved in many things and I continue to find more ways to entertain myself. I play League of Legends, Hearthstone, and a ton of single player games (usually late at night) and this led me to become the president of Nevada Esports. During the fall of my senior year, I started a golf club at UNR. During my freshman and sophomore years I played in a jazz combo, but I didn’t feel like I could dedicate enough time practicing so I only play guitar casually now. I did win some awards in high school though (there is a YouTube video of me with my high school jazz combo that has some questionable fashion choices…). I love sports, mostly basketball and golf, but I snowboard and ride dirt bikes occasionally. My mother was a choir and theater teacher while my dad was a career UPS driver. Now my mother is planning on going to law school and my dad is a jeweler. During my college tenure, I traveled abroad to Germany during the spring 2017 semester (technically more summer since it was from March to July) and had the opportunity to get published, work at an internship, and travel around. I love traveling as much as possible and would much rather save money to travel the world than accumulate things at home (unless those things are guitars and video games). If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
Nevada Esports has been the organization I have been most involved with in college. We run enormous events and tournaments, host over 6 intercollegiate competitive teams, and accumulate 150+ members. I personally have helped organize all of our events and budgeted for the club through the last two years. Our flagship event is Break the Internet (BTI) and has gathered over 400 visitors each of the last two years. Check out the club website at www.nevadaesports.com.
I became founded the golf club at UNR and became president not because I was good at golf, but because I am good at administration. I am currently taking lessons to improve and my best score is currently an 82. Hopefully by the time you read this, that score will be broken. If you are interested in checking out my career stats as a club golfer, see the Next Gen Golf website.
Jazz is one of my favorite genres of music and I have had been able to play a lot of it over the past 8 years. I started playing jazz guitar in 8th grade and continued all through high school and the first two years of high school. At the Folsom Jazz Festival in 2014, my combo won 3rd place. I don’t get to play as much any more, but I will pick up the guitar and play whenever I have some free time.
